NW Recruitment Services Ltd are recruiting on behalf of a well-established local sector organisation for an experienced Road Sweeper Driver to join their operational team. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety-conscious individual who takes pride in maintaining clean, safe and welcoming public spaces across the borough.
Key responsibilities:- Operate road sweeping machinery across the borough to maintain clean and safe highways and public areas.
- Remove mud, dust, litter and other debris from roads, access routes and surrounding areas.
- Ensure public-facing environments are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and management to meet operational priorities and service requirements.
- Support occasional weekend operations when required.
- A valid UK driving licence.
- C1+E licence with a valid Driver CPC qualification (essential).
- Previous experience operating a road sweeper or similar plant or specialist vehicle.
- Experience driving 7.5-tonne vehicles.
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Ability to carry out routine vehicle checks and identify basic maintenance issues.
- A dependable work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full-time, consistent working hours with an early Friday finish.
