This is a great opportunity for a Junior Design Engineer or recent Mechanical Engineering graduate to join a well-established and growing engineering business specialising in bespoke mechanical systems. You’ll be joining a collaborative design team where you’ll gain hands-on experience from day one, working on real projects and receiving structured support from experienced engineers. This role is ideal for someone at the early stage of their career who is keen to develop their technical skills and progress within a supportive environment.
The role:
- Support the design and development of mechanical systems and components from concept through to completion
- Produce and update 2D and 3D CAD drawings (SolidWorks preferred) in line with project specifications
- Assist in creating technical documentation, drawings, and design packs
- Work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time
- Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement of existing products
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and best practice
What we’re looking for:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
- Basic experience using CAD software (SolidWorks advantageous)
- Strong attention to detail with a willingness to learn and develop
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving ability
- Genuine interest in mechanical design and engineering systems
Desirable experience:
- Previous placement, internship, or work experience within an engineering environment
