We are recruiting for a Deputy Branch Manager for our busy Belfast branch. The role of the Deputy Manager is to support the Registered Manager and Area Service Managers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management of all aspects of company activity within agreed policies and procedures
  • Ensure a quality of service to all Service Users
  • Ensure that all standards of the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority are met
  • To hold the on‑call phone on a rota basis
  • Work within GDPR legislation

Other Duties

  • To hold regular reviews and negotiations with Care Managers for all packages of care to be delivered
  • To hold regular reviews and negotiations with Trust contracts departments
  • To actively participate in all user group forums to keep abreast of changing trends in the delivery of care
  • To encourage the development of Area Service Managers to further enhance the growth of the company
  • To establish and maintain dialogue with key personnel in local NHS Trusts

Personnel and Training

  • To ensure all staff are motivated and directed in the performance of their duties
  • To ensure all policies in relation to Industrial Relations, Employee Relations and Personnel Practices are adhered to
  • To regularly appraise and assess standards of performance in order to identify areas of strength and areas requiring attention in order to improve individual performances
  • To identify any training and development needs for staff under their control and ensure these training needs are prioritised and programmed as appropriate
  • To ensure effective recruitment is implemented in all areas to meet quality standards of performance
  • To liaise closely with Human Resources Manager in all aspects of personnel and recruitment
  • To ensure all new starts receive effective induction in all areas of their job and legislative requirements

Quality

  • To ensure that company meets all Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority standards
  • To ensure all staff adhere to company policies and procedures

The successful applicant will be expected to be flexible and to work within other locations / branches when required, to meet the needs of the business.

Essential Criteria

  • QCF Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care
  • 2 years’ experience in Domiciliary Care at Area Service Manager level or above
  • NISCC (Northern Ireland Social Care Council) registration completed at training, if not already registered
  • Enhanced AccessNI
  • Right to work in UK
  • Must hold on-call phone on a rota basis

Desirable Criteria

  • Managerial experience in a domiciliary care agency
  • Minimum of QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care

Where educational / professional qualifications form part of the criteria you will be required, if shortlisted for interview, to produce original certificates issued by the appropriate authority. Only those certificates relevant to the shortlisting criteria should be produced. If educational certificates are not available an original letter and photocopy of same detailing examination results from your school or college will be accepted as an alternative. If successful you will be required to produce documentary evidence that you are legally entitled to live and work in the United Kingdom. This documentation can be a P45, payslip, national insurance card or a birth certificate confirming birth in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland. Failure to produce evidence will result in a non-appointment. Where a post involves working in regulated activity with vulnerable groups, post holders will be required to have an Enhanced AccessNI and register with NISCC (Northern Ireland Social Care Council) or NMC (Nursing Midwifery Council).
