Position Overview

The UX Designer at Lumivero is a generalist, curious, and growth‑oriented design contributor who thrives in a fast‑moving, multi‑product environment. Reporting directly to the Sr.UX Designer, this role supports the design and continuous improvement of user experiences across Lumivero’s core desktop application portfolio — including NVivo, ATLAS.ti, Citavi, @RISK, and Predict — as well as our emerging AI‑native products. This is not a single‑product role. You will float across teams and codebases, adapting quickly to different product contexts and user audiences. You will be embedded within the Marketing & Product team and work closely with Development stakeholders to ensure our digital experiences are intuitive, on‑brand, and user‑centred. Success in this role requires genuine curiosity, a willingness to learn, and an eagerness to grow your skills in an AI‑native design environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their UX career who wants broad exposure across a diverse product portfolio, mentorship from an experienced Sr.UX Designer, and the chance to develop their craft at the intersection of research, design, and emerging AI tools. A requirement of 1–3 days in our London office is expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • User‑Centred Design: Assist in the design of intuitive, inclusive, and user‑friendly interfaces across multiple product areas, adapting your approach to suit each product’s unique context and user base. Translate research findings and business requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs under the guidance of the Sr.UX Designer. Contribute to and maintain design systems and pattern libraries, ensuring visual consistency across products. Apply best practices in interaction design, accessibility (WCAG standards), and responsive design, with a willingness to learn product‑specific standards as needed. Assist in designing UX flows and interface components for AI‑native product features, with an interest in exploring how AI can enhance user experience.
  • Research & User Insights: Support discovery research and usability studies to understand user behaviours, needs, and pain points across different product audiences. Assist in conducting usability testing and iterative validation to inform design decisions. Help analyse customer feedback, survey data, and UX metrics to surface actionable insights for continuous improvement. Contribute to synthesising and presenting research findings to stakeholders in a clear and compelling way.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work alongside Product Managers, Developers, and Subject Matter Experts across multiple product teams in an agile design environment. Communicate design intent clearly through documentation, prototypes, and presentations tailored to different audiences. Advocate for the user perspective in cross‑functional discussions, balancing usability with technical and business constraints. Participate in design reviews and feedback sessions with the Sr.UX Designer, actively incorporating guidance to grow your skills.
  • Adaptability & Continuous Learning: Embrace working across different codebases and product environments, learning each product’s design conventions and technical constraints with curiosity and openness. Actively explore and apply AI‑native tools and workflows in your design practice (e.g., using AI for rapid prototyping, content ideation, or user research synthesis). Stay current with UX trends, emerging design tools, and best practices — bringing relevant ideas back to the team. Demonstrate a growth mindset: seek feedback proactively, reflect on your work, and continuously develop your skills.

Required Qualifications & Education

  • 1–3 years of professional UX design experience.
  • A portfolio demonstrating your design process and the ability to create user‑centred solutions — quality and thinking matter more than volume.
  • Familiarity with industry‑standard tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Miro, or equivalent).
  • A basic understanding of design‑thinking and human‑centred design principles.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present and discuss your design decisions with confidence.
  • Comfort working independently while knowing when to ask for guidance; able to manage your time across multiple projects.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK; based in or willing to relocate to the London area.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to desktop application or B2B enterprise software design.
  • An interest in or basic knowledge of front‑end development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) or working within component‑based design systems and maintenance.
  • Experience or genuine curiosity about designing for AI‑native products or AI‑assisted workflows.
  • Familiarity with agile or sprint‑based product development processes.
  • Experience with quantitative or qualitative research tools (e.g., UserTesting, Lookback, Hotjar, or similar).
  • Experience working across multiple products or codebases simultaneously.

What We Offer

  • Direct mentorship and day‑to‑day guidance from a Senior UX Designer, with a clear path to develop your skills and take on more ownership over time.
  • Broad exposure across a diverse, established product portfolio spanning qualitative research, statistical analysis, and AI‑native applications.
  • A hybrid working environment based in London — split between home and our London office.
  • The opportunity to work at the forefront of AI‑native product design within a growing, global software company.
  • A collaborative, inclusive team culture that values curiosity, continuous improvement, and diverse perspectives.
