WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Establish baseline Life Cycle Assessments across each product category globally.
- Support and track progress towards our public LCA goal, complete regulatory LCA data needs and customer LCA requests.
- Build out system level LCAs to ensure ISO 14040 & 14044 compliance and third party certifications at product family and SKU level.
- Partner with product compliance and the nVent sustainability team to provide relevant data for voluntary and mandatory regulatory reporting needs; including CSRD/EU Taxonomy, Scope 3, CSDDD, Company Sustainability Report.
- Support New Product Development teams; educate and support teams completing LCA scorecards and meet internal scorecard thresholds.
- Support the digitalization of environmental and material impact measurements, tracking, and reporting across BUs to display impacts by BU, by product group and SKU.
- Support senior SMEs to lead large, cross-functional project teams, providing mentoring and guidance across product/service.
- Provide analytical insights into LCA results and recommendations to multi-functional product teams on how to continue driving down impacts as part of business value.
YOU HAVE:
- Academic background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience from an ABET accredited program in engineering, engineering technology, or environmental science. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field along with a passed Engineering in Training exam or a Practice of Engineering license.
- Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in life cycle assessment modeling in software such as SimaPro, or 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing value stream engineering, product manufacturing or product design.
- Skills: Experience in ISO 14040 and 14044 certifications and process; extensive knowledge in Life Cycle Analysis modeling in reputable LCA platforms; an understanding of how LCA can support multiple regulatory, customer and business needs; strong problem-solving skills to anticipate customer, organizational needs and creatively collaborate with collaborators to overcome obstacles and get it done; excellent discernment in business, technical knowledge within multiple business units, and extensive knowledge in applications, technologies, and emerging industry trends; well-developed problem solving, systems thinking, project management, quantitative and detail-oriented critical thinking skills; able to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and adaptability, working across time zones; highly organized and skilled in data management and analysis tools and use of MS Office applications; passionate about sustainability and ability to influence and educate across organizations.
Preferred:
- Previous leadership in LCA projects that have been ISO third party certified.
- Experience in multi-functional team project teams.
- Experience creating and leading LCA strategy.
- Experience in applying LCA data for multiple purposes including regulatory and voluntary reporting.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in SimaPro.
