NVC Security is a Derby-based security company with over 30 years of combined industry experience, delivering professional security solutions across the East Midlands. We are currently recruiting experienced and reliable NASDU Accredited PAYE Security Dog Handlers to join our growing team for ongoing and ad-hoc assignments.

Our work covers a wide range of sectors including commercial premises, industrial sites, construction projects, events, festivals and mobile patrol operations. We are looking for professional individuals who take pride in their work, demonstrate excellent reliability, and can represent our company to the highest standards.

The Role

As a Security Dog Handler, your duties may include:

  • Static guarding of commercial and industrial sites
  • Mobile patrols and perimeter inspections
  • Conducting foot patrols with your security dog
  • Maintaining accurate incident and patrol reports using mobile devices
  • Liaising with clients, members of the public and control teams
  • Supporting event and festival security operations where required

Work is primarily based across Derby and the wider East Midlands, with a mixture of day, night and weekend shifts available.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guard licence
  • Hold a recognised Security Dog Handler qualification from NASDU
  • Have a suitable trained security dog
  • Hold a full UK manual driving licence
  • Have access to a reliable vehicle for travelling to assignments
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English
  • Have excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Be confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Be able to provide a 5-year checkable work or education history in line with BS7858 vetting standards
  • Be comfortable using smartphones/tablets and reporting software
Preferred Experience

Previous experience in security dog handling:

  • Experience within static guarding, patrol or mobile response roles
  • Strong observational and incident management skills
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and nights
