We are looking for an experienced and motivated Bookkeeper to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys bookkeeping and VAT work, thrives in a practice environment, and is passionate about helping clients embrace digital accounting solutions. The role will initially be based at our Long Eaton office, ahead of our planned move to our new Nottingham office in July 2026.
About the Role
You will be responsible for supporting a varied portfolio of clients with:
- Bookkeeping services
- VAT return preparation and submissions
- Supporting clients with digital adoption and cloud accounting solutions
- Helping transition clients away from manual record keeping
- Assisting with accounts preparation when required
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys bookkeeping and wants to continue developing within this area, rather than using the role as a stepping stone away from bookkeeping.
What We’re Looking For
Essential requirements include:
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment
- Strong bookkeeping and VAT experience
- Experience managing work across multiple clients simultaneously
- Confident using cloud accounting software, particularly Xero
- A proactive approach to digitalisation and helping champion new systems within the team
- AAT qualified or qualified by experience (QBE)
This role would not suit candidates whose experience is solely within industry or limited to purchase ledger/sales ledger positions.
Working Arrangements & Flexibility
- 1 day working from home permitted following successful completion of probation
- Flexibility is available, although working hours are currently slightly more structured to ensure office cover
- Greater flexibility is expected once our Nottingham offices combine from July 2026
Additional Information
We would ideally like to hear from candidates who are available on a 1-month notice period. If you are an experienced practice bookkeeper who enjoys client interaction, digital systems, and being part of a supportive team environment, we would love to hear from you.
