We are seeking ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveying professionals to join our team based out of our Risley office. You will be responsible for supporting the commercial and contract management of our projects, from inception to final account. You will work closely with project teams and support functions, and build good relationships with our clients and supply chain. Your enthusiastic and professional approach will be key to successful project commercial outcomes.

Reports to: Senior Quantity Surveyor or Senior Commercial Manager

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide commercial support for the following aspects for projects that operate on a lump sum, remeasurable, target cost, or reimbursable basis:
    • Project cash flow and budget
    • Contractual terms & conditions (both client and supply chain)
    • Interim applications in accordance with contract procedures
    • Change management, in accordance with contract procedures
    • Negotiation of contract amendments, including review of terms & conditions
    • Subcontract account management, including review of interim applications, preparation of payment certificates, management and assessment of potential changes, and final accounting upon completion
    • Preparation of internal cost / commercial reports, including accurate margin forecasting
    • Compliance with all relevant Health & Safety regulations

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or in related subject (candidates with appropriate experience may be considered)
  • 2+ years of experience in quantity surveying in the nuclear, engineering or construction industry
  • Working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts (particularly Options C & E)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to build good relationships with project teams, clients, and the supply chain
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • PC literate in the Microsoft Office suite

Desirable

  • Experience of using the CEMAR Contract Management System
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel to other UK offices and sites on occasion as necessary
