The Senior Engineer is fundamentally a hands-on analysis and design-based role within the Civil Structural department, typically on steel and reinforced concrete structures. They would be expected to lead on day-to-day developments of the design through the design process, working autonomously and as part of a wider multidisciplinary project team.
Responsibilities include:
- Basis of Design reports, technical specifications, risk assessments, method statements, technical files and other documentation required by safety legislation and procedures.
- Prepare supporting design calculations and analysis to substantiate design.
Qualifications:
- A recognised Engineering Certificate such as HNC / HND / Degree with circa. 10+ years’ work experience in structural design consultancy.
- Strong understanding of the fundamentals of structural engineering discipline, including safety legislation and statutory regulations.
- Design experience in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel and a good understanding of design in other construction materials.
- Experience and ability in the analysis of structural frames and members using proprietary software packages.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines without compromising on safety and quality.
- Nuclear experience or experience from within a highly regulated industry.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays.
- Experience of supervision.
