Senior Structural Engineers make up the body of the engineering department and are responsible for carrying out the day-to-day developments of the design through the design process. The Senior Structural Engineer is fundamentally a hands-on analysis and design-based role within the Civil & Structural department that generally includes interfacing with other engineering disciplines in the project design team. The Senior Structural Engineer also has a shared managerial responsibility in respect of Graduates, Apprentices and/or Designers in the team as and when required to do so.

To be considered for the Senior Structural Engineer position the applicant must be delivering functions above that of a Design Engineer.

  • Preparation of risk assessments, technical files and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and procedures
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of structures and foundations using Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel
  • Design experience in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel
  • Nuclear experience or experience from within a highly regulated industry
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with overnight stays occasionally
  • Experience of supervision
  • A recognised Engineering Certificate such as HNC / HND / Degree
