Role
- Supervision and management of a small team carrying out radiological beach surveys using vehicle mounted monitoring systems.
- Electronic processing of all survey data collected and delivery to the Client.
- Preparation of monitoring schedules and formal reports and delivery to the Client.
- Responsible for the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of the team including training and preparation of project documentation.
- Responsible for ensuring that vehicles and monitoring equipment are maintained and fit for purpose.
- Reports to the Nuvia Health Physics Operations Manager.
- Appointed Radiation Protection Supervisor for the project team.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Windows 10 and Microsoft 365 as well as either knowledge or the ability to learn to use a variety of project-based data processing software including GIS and Access. Training will be provided.
- Full driving licence - position involves the use of four-wheel drive vehicles and trailers, and off-road driving, four-wheel drive four-wheel steer single occupancy survey vehicle and tractor. Appropriate training will be provided in use of all equipment; tractor training will utilise a buddy seat in cab.
- Vehicle driving training essential to provide holiday cover and competency to train others.
- Comfortable working to support the project in a harsh environment as required.
- Flexible start and finish times as required in line with the coastal tides and weather.
Profile
- Communication Skills - Ability to communicate and create a good working partnership with the Client, Members of the Regulating Bodies, various Nuclear governing bodies, Suppliers, and the general public is essential.
Qualifications
- Essential - Maths, English, Science at GCSE level or equivalent.
- Desirable β Recognised Health Physics qualification (City and Guilds or NVQ). Basic Radiation Awareness training, Radiation Protection Supervisor.
