Overview The role is within the Power Hedging & Origination team of Nuveen Infrastructure Clean Energy.

With a portfolio that is continuously experiencing increased exposure to power markets and underlying risks, Nuveen is looking to expand its capabilities in evaluating and managing energy risks, with the ultimate objective of securing revenues.

The position reports to the Head of Power Hedging & Origination and will be FCA regulated.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to execute long‐ and short‐term hedges and structure the revenue management of Nuveen's portfolio, navigating among multiple renewable technologies (including BESS) across more than 10 power markets.

The individual will originate and structure power hedges, manage relationships with key corporate and utility offtakers, hedge environmental attributes, negotiate route‐to‐market agreements, and build a diversified energy portfolio from a risk perspective.

Responsibilities Originate, structure, and execute hedges for assets under management.

Manage reporting and quantitative tools (ETRM, portfolio risk management).

Support the Investment Team with due‐diligence reviews of offtake structures.

Maintain relationships with key offtakers and market‐access providers.

Participate in BESS revenue‐model definition and execution.

Negotiate route‐to‐market agreements for operational and to‐be‐built assets.

Build a diversified energy portfolio from a risk perspective.

Act as decision‐maker with respect to assessing market conditions at the timing of portfolio‐management decisions taken by the investment committee regarding power‐price hedging.

Conduct all communication with counterparties when arranging hedges.

Receive and integrate knowledge transfer from subject‐matter experts.

Produce and disseminate power‐market and renewable‐energy analytics.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

IMC or CFA qualification. 5+ years of renewable asset‐backed trading or portfolio management experience at a utility, bank, fund, or trading house.

Strong knowledge of global power markets and embedded risks.

Experience originating and structuring PPAs.

Fluency in at least one European language, in addition to English.

Strong delivery and commercial mindset.

Highly analytical and strategic mindset.

Quantitative or data‐driven background is a plus.

Ability to work in a fast‐paced environment.

Interest in the renewable‐energy industry.

Additional Information This role requires a Certified Staff – UK regulatory designation and will require the person to have at least an IMC or CFA qualification.

It is subject to regulatory oversight with respect to trading activities and market interactions.

The role is based in London and must meet the regulatory substance requirements associated with operating the GAML/NIMIL power‐price hedging desk.

The role holder must be an authorised person and, where relevant, will be required to chaperone colleagues based in unregulated entities whenever those colleagues need to meet or communicate with clients, market participants, or investors.

All regulated activities – including portfolio management decisions and communication with counterparties when arranging hedges – are reserved to this role.
