Visit www.nuveen.com to learn more about us.Overview of the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the origination, analysis, and execution of clean energy investments across Europe.Key responsibilities: **Modelling and investment proposals*** Produce, develop, and review of cash flow based financial models for renewable energy generation projects / assets / platforms valuation* Understand and optimise the project contractual structures* Define, document, and monitor all project assumptions* Understand and analyse project SPV financial statements* Analyse and interpret results from the financial model, run sensitivities to help with the assessment of the investment case* Draft investment proposals and investment committee presentations with support and input from Investment Directors* Support in training Analysts and Associates on developing financial modelling and valuation skills**Transaction support*** Support origination activities with renewable project developers in EU 27 economies and the UK* Drive and assist in the execution of deals (acquisitions, exits, project financing, divestments)* Drive due diligence workstreams and project manage transactions and coordinate work products from external advisors (developers / EPC contractors, lawyers, technical advisors, financing providers, etc.) including preparation where applicable of marketing materials* Develop proprietary pipeline of potential transactions based on a network of contacts, with autonomy from, but transparency to the team**Portfolio management and Value creation*** Sit or support portfolio company boards, monitor KPIs, budgets and strategic plans* Drive value creation initiatives: growth strategy, M&A, operational improvements, capital structure optimization* Track ESG/ impacts metrics relevant to energy transition**Market monitoring*** Support in liaising with renewable energy and clean tech organisations* Conduct research on selected sectors, countries or market segments to identify potential investment opportunities* Follow regulatory development in the renewable energy sectors (regulatory framework, tariffs, EU targets, etc.**Fund Level Support*** From time to time the role will entail offering support to other teams with Fund level activities. Such activities may include:* Production of marketing materials for fund raising campaigns* Compilation of VDD materials for prospective LPs* Miscellaneous additional activities associated with business development* Contribute to fund level reporting, LP communications and valuation processesQualifications & Experience RequiredCandidates must be competent to build and operate detailed financial models; manage legal, technical, regulatory and commercial due diligence workstreams with appropriate understanding; have significant understanding of the political and environmental relevance of the energy and power sectors.
