Nuttall Bowser are a specialist bridge engineering consultancy start-up, based in Bristol operating throughout the UK and beyond. We work across numerous sectors delivering bridge engineering services across all asset life cycle stages from asset management through to detailed design for asset owners, contractors, property developers and consulting partners. We are based in the Generator Building within the Finzels Reach area of central Bristol – situated in a harbour-side setting with just a 5min walk to Cabot Circus and a 10min walk to the train station. The Generator Building is a grade II listed structure modernly restored to celebrate its heritage features and history, providing an appropriate fit to our business capability and culture. We are entering an exciting growth phase and seeking a Senior Engineer to enable further growth and success. Responsibilities
- Act as technical lead for delivery of examinations, assessments and design works
- Act as line manager and develop junior staff members
- Act as project manager or assist project managers to support project delivery
- Support senior leaders with tenders and fee proposals
- Assist senior leaders in developing all aspects of the business
Requirements
Minimum:
- Strong experience in the examination, assessment, repair & design of bridge assets
- Strong working knowledge of Eurocode, British & DMRB standards
- Strong technical skills with experience/ability to mentor junior staff
Preferred:
- Incorporated or Chartered with ICE or IStructE
- Experience in project management
- Strong experience in detailed design of reinforced concrete and steel superstructures and substructure/foundation design
- Previous experience in non-linear buckling Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
