Nutrix Medical is seeking skilled and compassionate Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurses for flexible shifts in Nottingham. We are looking for nurses with strong paediatric critical care experience who can confidently care for acutely unwell infants and children in a highly specialised environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care to critically ill paediatric patients requiring advanced monitoring and life‑support interventions.
  • Manage ventilators, infusion pumps, and specialised paediatric equipment.
  • Complete detailed assessments and create effective, family‑centred care plans.
  • Accurately document clinical care and elevate any deterioration promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with paediatric consultants, intensivists, and the wider MDT.
  • Provide emotional support and clear communication to families during difficult situations.
  • Ensure adherence to UK paediatric critical care standards and safeguarding protocols.

Requirements

  • Valid NMC registration as a Registered Children’s Nurse (RCN).
  • Previous UK PICU experience is essential.
  • Strong understanding of paediatric anatomy, physiology, and critical illness management.
  • Confidence handling emergency situations and complex equipment.
  • Up‑to‑date mandatory training, vaccinations, and right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
