We are looking for an enthusiastic, practical and motivated senior environmental, water or engineering professional with proven project management experience to join our friendly, growing team.

About the Role
In this role you will be involved in all aspects of project work from proposal to final invoicing.
You will manage multiple projects at any one time, ensuring that high-quality deliverables are produced within agreed budgets and timeframes.
You will also support the mentoring and development of more junior staff, including reviewing their work and helping them build confidence in technical delivery.
Your day-to-day work will include technical analysis, practical problem solving, report writing and technical review.
You will provide clear advice to clients and liaise directly with regulatory authorities and wider project teams.
We appreciate that there is no formal training course that prepares someone fully for a role with us, and so specific technical training on nutrient neutrality will be provided.
There will be opportunities to develop areas of particular interest, and you will be actively encouraged to stay abreast of the latest industry developments.
What we are looking for
Nutrient neutrality is a specialist and evolving area which draws on a range of multidisciplinary skills.
We are looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant with experience in one or more of the following disciplines: hydrology, geo-environmental science, geography, engineering, ecology (peatlands), water management or agricultural land management.
We need a professional, competent individual who can bring technical expertise, project management capability, commercial awareness and strong client relationship and communication skills.
The successful candidate will be confident working independently with minimal supervision and also collaboratively within our small, supportive consultancy team.
- Role competencies and experience
- MSc and/or significant industry experience in a relevant field.
- A minimum of 3 years’ consultancy experience in the UK.
- Experience managing projects and delivering work within agreed budgets and timescales.
- Experience managing, mentoring or training early-career staff would be beneficial.
- Good commercial awareness and client relationship management skills.
- Proactive and confident communicator with a friendly, collaborative and innovative approach.
- Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office. Experience with QGIS would be beneficial.
- Excellent report-writing, technical review and proofing skills.
- Chartered status, or a desire to work towards chartership with a relevant institution.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution, for example CIWEM or CIEEM, would be beneficial.
- Attention to detail and a genuine desire to deliver work to the highest standard.
- A passion for improving the environment.
