What you will do:
- Gain practical experience in seed breeding and crop development.
- Prepare plots, treat seed, and set up field trials.
- Operate small plot field equipment and maintain yield trial sites in multiple locations.
- Learn field data collection techniques and plant evaluation methods.
- Understand the lifecycle of seed development from planting to harvest.
- Develop skills in teamwork, communication, and agricultural problem-solving.
- Build confidence in applying knowledge to real-world agricultural challenges.
- Complete agronomic notes with accuracy and precision.
- Actively follow safety procedures, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Local travel (20% or more) may be required.
What you will bring:
- A High School diploma or equivalent certificate is required.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Demonstrate initiative and take pride in your work.
- Can adapt to outdoor, hands-on tasks in varying conditions.
- Able to stoop, bend, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Detail-driven, reliable, and safety-conscious approach.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to the success of the team.
- Post secondary education in agriculture is an asset but not required.
