Job Description

The Companion Animal Quality Operations Manager is positioned at a Country level with a direct reporting line to the Regional Quality Manager. He/she is responsible for the local quality management systems within the operational environment that is needed to meet all internal and external quality & feed/food safety requirements. Responsible for the governance of Quality in the companion animal production plant against industry, Nutrace & customer standards, including Training on procedures, Internal auditing and monitoring of KPIs.

Is an expert in Quality Management and Food to Feed Safety with good communication and training skills needed to create a quality culture where people of all disciplines understand their role in quality performance. He/she is the primary point of contact for Operational related to Quality. Works side by side with the Quality Manager, Customer Companion Animal, the Regional Quality Manager, Operations, Technical and Commercial teams to assure customer satisfaction. Will lead a team of two dedicated Quality Officers and participate and contribute to Global Quality networks.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Implementation of Quality strategy with a focus on the operation landscape
• Development and execution of quality plan using strategy, business priorities as input.

• Contact person for operations related factory performance for Companion Animal Quality.

• Quality Management FSSC22000 and Nutrace
• Development, continuous improvement and implementation of the policy, standards, and processes that together ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations for the safety, quality, and integrity of companion animal food/feed products.
• Development, continuous improvement and implementation of customer and product specific requirements including qualification of the business.
• Development of training materials and execute training related to quality management.
• Continuously improve communication and create awareness about Nutrace quality management internally and externally promoting “quality feeds value”.
• Feed to food safety and quality (FSQ) expertise and support
• Expert support in projects and in case of incidents and crisis.

• Development, continuous improvement, and implementation of Risk based thinking and Quality mindset, specifically related to companion animal operations.

Quality Performance
• Continuous improvement of Operational Quality performance via working closely together with other functions including Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement and Marketing & Sales.
• Development and continuous improvement of key performance indicators that provide insight of quality performance within Nutreco.
• Conduct Nutrace and FSSC22000 compliance and effectiveness assessments and implement closure of gaps

• Conduct, manage, and implement HACCP, TACCP and VACCP risk assessments to identify and control FSQ hazards, implement and monitor compliance.
• Plan and execute monitoring plans, internal audits and inspections and implement closure of associated gaps.

• Execute quality data analysis for release decisions and to identify trends, risks, corrective actions, and continuous improvements.
• Verify that all analytical services are provided in time and with the required quality, in accordance with the organization guidelines and relevant standards and schemes.

In Cooperation with the Quality Manager, Customer Companion Animal:

• Non-Conformance & Complaint Management execution, including root cause analysis and Corrective and Preventative actions (CAPA).

• QMS Operational procedure creation, maintenance, review, and updates to meet the needs of the business and customers.

• Management review that demonstrates the performance the quality management system and its continuing suitability and effectiveness.

• Manufacturing and verification trials within the operational environmental.

• Contribute to Change Management as a Key Quality Stakeholder.

Organisation
• Development and implementation of effective Quality organisation for the Companion Animal Plant Operational Quality Management.
• Manager of quality officer team and allocated QC resource – responsible for performance management and effective team
