In this role, you will learn how to create accurate formulations for a wide range of animal nutrition products, including premixes, concentrates, minerals and complementary feeds across multiple species. You will also support product labelling and work closely with colleagues from technical, operations, quality and manufacturing teams to ensure our products are accurate, compliant and ready to be produced. This is a great opportunity for someone at the start of their career who enjoys working with data, has a strong eye for detail and wants to develop technical knowledge in animal nutrition, feed, food or manufacturing. You do not need to have previous formulation experience, as training will be provided, but you should be organised, curious and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
What you’ll do
- Support the formulation of accurate, compliant and manufacturable products across multiple species.
- Produce and maintain formulations for premixes, concentrates, minerals and complementary feed products.
- Ensure product formulations and labelling information are accurate and compliant with relevant regulations.
- Work closely with technical teams to understand product requirements and ensure formulations meet nutritional expectations.
- Collaborate with operations and manufacturing teams to confirm production feasibility.
- Liaise with quality and regulatory teams when required to support compliance and accuracy.
- Manage formulation requests within agreed timeframes, balancing urgent priorities and workload demands.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy when working with product data, raw material information and labelling requirements.
- Support the management of live products and formulation updates.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, processes and ways of working.
- Use internal systems and tools to maintain formulation data and support reporting needs.
Who we’re looking for
- A degree in agriculture, animal science, animal nutrition, food science or a related field is preferred but not mandatory (recent graduates may also be considered).
- Previous formulation experience is an advantage, but not essential, as training can be provided; experience in feed manufacturing, food manufacturing, animal nutrition, agriculture or a similar technical/manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Systems skills: basic Excel skills are required, experience with ERP systems is an advantage, and exposure to Power BI or reporting tools is a plus.
- Key Soft Skills: strong communication, excellent attention to detail, organisation and prioritisation, with a proactive and reliable approach and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
