What You’ll Do
- You’ll lead a team of 6 Formulators responsible for premix and mineral formulation activities across UK and Ireland. This is a varied role that combines people leadership, technical expertise, project management and strategic planning.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Formulators, creating a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional projects focused on operational excellence, quality, legislation, systems improvements and business performance, working with stakeholders across the business to drive successful outcomes.
- Lead formulation activities, ensuring products meet nutritional standards while achieving the most cost-effective outcomes for the business.
- Manage formulation systems and databases, including Bestmix, M3 and SAP, maintaining accurate product, ingredient and costing information.
- Partner with Sales, Technical and Marketing teams to develop and implement customised feed solutions and support new product development initiatives.
- Drive raw material forecasting, cost modelling and pricing activities, providing insights that support purchasing decisions and business performance.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement through formula audits, data analysis and optimisation initiatives.
- Monitor raw material and finished product quality, ensuring compliance with analysis plans, supporting audits and providing performance insights and recommendations to management.
- Responsible for ensuring product labelling complies with the regulatory requirements of the country where the product is marketed.
- Support local HSE team with hazardous substances.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, Technical and Commercial teams to ensure formulation activities support wider business goals.
Who We’re Looking For

You’ll also need:
- Approximately 4+ years of experience in formulation, feed manufacturing, animal nutrition or a related field.
- Previous people management or team leadership experience.
- Good project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence working across different departments and functions.
- Strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in data, reporting and continuous improvement.
- Experience working with formulation systems such as Bestmix would be advantageous.
- A team-first mindset and a proactive approach to problem solving.
