Nutopia is an award-winning independent production company behind some of the most ambitious documentary series on television.
Our sizzle team's pitch reels are among the best in business - cinematic, pacy, fun, and built to sell scale.
We are now looking for a self-sufficient Sizzle Preditor and would love to hear from you if you fit the brief below.
This is a hands-on, end-to-end role, creating pitch materials that help bring Nutopia's biggest ideas to life: developing, shaping, and delivering work that makes commissioners and talent say yes.
START DATE & DURATION ASAP start for an initial 4 weeks, with potential to become an ongoing long-term opportunity
THE ROLE
- Producing and editing sizzle reels from concept through delivery, under tight deadlines, within the team’s creative framework.
- Sourcing footage creatively and resourcefully.
- Writing and adapting scripts independently.
- Working-up content - not just cutting to a brief.
WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU ARE...
- A short form specialist - with a background in digital, sizzles, pre-titles, trailers, or commercials
- with the proven ability to make something land in under two minutes.
- A strong writer - able to work out the logic of an idea, what it needs to say, and turn that into a tight, clear, effective script.
- Creatively resourceful - skilled at sourcing and re-purposing existing footage and sync in imaginative ways - to make ideas land clearly and with a sense of fun.
- Adept with GFX - experienced working with scripts in cards, with the ability to make them look polished and purposeful.
- Open to AI - familiarity with the latest AI image-generation tools would be an advantage but not essential as training can be given.
What is essential is genuine interest in learning and integrating these tools into your workflow.
- A music-first editor - adept at working with (and re-shaping) trailer music to drive pace, emotion and humour.
- Self-sufficient - able to work independently, manage your workload and deliver to a deadline.
EXPERIENCE
- Proven track record in sizzle, trailer, commercial, or short-form digital editing
- Experience writing scripts and treatments, not just cutting to them
- Expertise in sourcing and repurposing materials
- An interest in or experience of digital first/You tube content, would be a bonus.
As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applicants from diverse and under-represented backgrounds.
