Senior Product Manager – Pensions (NUTMEG)

Job in a Nutshell:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the design and implementation of a new operating model for our pensions business. This role involves leading a squad of developers to integrate a new platform with internal and external applications, working with colleagues to obtain necessary regulatory permissions, establishing the trust structure, and migrating existing customers to the new model. You will play a pivotal role in transforming our pensions business, ensuring it aligns with strategic goals and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expertise :Become a go-to expert for the pensions product, assuming a visible role within the company and taking responsibility for delivery.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Leadership :Lead efforts to secure regulatory permissions and establish a compliant operating framework, including setting up the trust.
  • Strategic Roadmap Development :Define and manage a comprehensive roadmap for the new operating model and platform, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs. Ensure best-in-class features and online-only journeys are incorporated into the delivery plan.
  • Customer Migration :Plan and execute the migration of existing customers to the new platform, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Product Development Excellence: Drive innovation in product design (e.g. digital drawdown journeys and delivery of other retirement options) while adhering to financial compliance standards.
  • Team Collaboration :Work collaboratively across the organization to deliver strategically aligned product development.
  • Agile Methodology :Lead agile teams through iterative discovery and delivery sprint cycles, participating in agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, planning meetings, and retrospectives.
  • Cross-Departmental Coordination: Act as a liaison among departments, translating ideas and concepts into actionable plans.

Your Skills:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Product Management Experience :Significant experience within the pensions domain, ideally on defined contribution direct-to-consumer personal pensions.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with governance procedures and practices, particularly in the context of financial services.
  • Complex Project Delivery :Experience in delivering complex projects that impact multiple teams.
  • UK Retail Investing Knowledge :Understanding of UK retail investing, including other tax wrappers, is advantageous.
  • Financial Guidance Expertise: Experience or knowledge of financial guidance and advice, and the distinction between them.
