We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys working in a hands-on, collaborative environment and is motivated by solving complex technical challenges.
What you’ll do:
- You will be involved across the full product lifecycle, working closely with Product Line Management, certification bodies, and cross-functional teams to bring new products to market:
- Design mechanical products in line with specifications and NPD schedules
- Ensure full compliance with Hazardous and Safe Area standards
- Perform product testing, validation, and evaluation
- Prepare detailed production, certification, and technical documentation
- Support product certification and engage directly with notified bodies
- Contribute to ProLaunch phase gates and deliverables
- Provide technical support for product lifecycle, NPI, and ongoing improvements
- Collaborate with global engineering teams, product management, and sales
Qualifications:
- BEng / HND in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
- 5+ years’ experience in mechanical design, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in laboratory-based design, build, and test activities
Skills:
- Good knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or Creo)
- Experience using SAP (BOMs, documentation)
- Understanding of hazardous area design and compliance standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and technical reporting ability
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
