What you’ll do:

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Engineer to join our Avionics engineering team. This role is ideal for an entry-level engineer with a passion for aviation and avionics systems who is eager to grow and develop their technical and professional skills.

  • You will be undertaking EMC [Electromagnetic Compatibility] simulations which ensures electronic systems and components can operate without interference from each other, both at high and low frequencies.
  • By increasing our EMC simulation capabilities, we can enhance Eaton's ability to design and validate systems to comply with industry standards.
  • You will support Integrated Project Teams in the design and execution of complex engineering projects over the full life cycle of product development across Eaton MSD portfolio [Air to Air Refueling, Actuation, Probes and R&D].
  • The Avionics Integration team have a proven track record of developing and mentoring young engineers.
  • Assess current EMC and Lightning protection methods of our products.
  • Research how to simulate these protection methods in EMC simulation tools.
  • Import CAD models in simulation tools and refine these structures to allow effective simulation.
  • Run and iterate simulation models to produce the required simulation results.
  • Compile “white papers” to describe what you learned during simulation and the best practices and techniques discovered.
  • Analyses and documents multi-disciplinary requirements and ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions.
  • Performs functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, system integration, verification, and validation, as well as interface definition studies of systems, subsystems, or system elements.
  • Develops requirements Verification Matrices and assists in developing verification, validation, and qualification plans.
  • Assists in preparation and execution of Systems Requirements Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews and Test Readiness Reviews.

The Avionics Airborne Equipment department is dedicated to advancing the field of avionics through a collaborative team of Systems Architecture experts, Hardware Engineers, and EME Specialists. Our mission is to design, develop, and integrate cutting-edge airborne equipment that meets the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Skills:

  • A background in engineering, Avionics / Electronics preferred, but not required.
  • A knowledge of writing code and/or scripts.
  • A background knowledge of EMC or Wave physics.
  • Experience with standards such as RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-461.
  • Experience in working in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Model based Systems Engineering tools and approaches.

  • Technically Proficient: Has a history and interest in technically changing topics.

This role offers a unique chance to develop and/or expand your expertise in EMC [Electromagnetic Compatibility] and Systems Engineering and gain hands-on experience with advanced simulation tools such as Altair and ANSYS. You will have the opportunity to work independently on projects, allowing you to shape Eaton’s best practices for these tools. You will be at the forefront of engineering, using the latest tools and techniques to understand real AAR/Actuation and probes EMC and System challenges.

Additionally, this role provides a platform to collaborate with multiple departments, gaining company exposure. You’ll develop a skill set that includes technical proficiency, project management, and cross-functional teamwork.
