Nustaff are recruiting on behalf of a public sector client for a part-time Assistant ER Officer to join a busy Employee Relations team within an HR Operations department. This is a great opportunity for someone with HR experience who is looking for flexible, part-time hours and wants to contribute to a high-quality people management service supporting managers across the organisation. The Role As Assistant ER Officer, you will provide a comprehensive and high-quality people management service within the Employee Relations (ER) team. This includes offering telephone and direct support to line managers, and producing clear, detailed guidance and advisory documentation. You'll also support wider ER management activity, including policy and procedure development, project administration, and general support to the ER team. Key responsibilities include: - Providing high-quality advice, support and guidance to managers and supervisors on ER policy and procedure, with regard to employment legislation and organisational policy - Helping maintain the ER department's project plan, tracking actions, timescales and milestones, and flagging any deviations - Producing reports as required, including for regular partnership meetings - Carrying out project enquiries and research to support the Senior ER Officer in delivering projects - Liaising with internal departments (such as IS, Estates and Finance) to support policy and procedure changes - Creating and updating ER procedures and intranet information, ensuring documentation reflects current policy - Providing general administrative support, including meeting co-ordination, minute-taking, and maintaining accurate and secure ER records What You'll Need Essential: - Previous experience in an HR environment, providing support to managers and supervisors on people management issues - Effective communication skills, with the ability to give clear, concise and customer-focused guidance - Ability to work on your own initiative, multi-task, and support others in managing theirs - Proven resilience and assertiveness when dealing with challenging situations - Sound administrative and computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets and word processing Desirable: - Previous HR experience within the Police Service - Certificate in Personnel Practice or equivalent qualification Hours - 16 hours per week - Hours can be worked flexibly over 2–3 days, between Wednesday and Friday Pay Rates - PAYE: £14.10 per hour - Umbrella: £18.55 per hour - If you are interested in this role please click APPLY NOW and we will be in touch!
