Company Mission
Nusku is leading the energy transition with a revolutionary new heating system that enables a seamless shift away from gas boilers to a more affordable and greener solution. Our mission is not only to reduce the carbon emissions from the UK’s 29 million homes, which currently account for 20% of the UK’s CO2 footprint, but also to reshape how people think about home heating. We are driven by innovation and long-term sustainability, developing products that are efficient, reliable, and accessible. By bringing breakthrough technology into everyday homes, we aim to improve comfort for our customers, lower energy costs, and accelerate the UK’s journey to net zero.

We are looking for a software engineer who is motivated by purpose and inspired by impact. You thrive on solving complex problems and enjoy collaborating across disciplines to deliver software that integrates seamlessly with hardware. Creative, analytical, and curious, you want to see your work have a tangible effect on the way people heat their homes.
What the job involves
As Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and delivering Nusku’s software platform. Responsibilities include:

- Supporting system integration to ensure smooth operation between software and hardware.
How we work
We are a committed team, driven to improve the heat pump experience for our customers and reduce the carbon emissions of home heating. We expect you to share these values and contribute to this mission. This is a predominantly site-based role in Bristol, working closely with the development team. There is scope for some home working when appropriate, balancing lifestyle needs with product development schedules.

- Solid understanding of RESTful API design and integration.
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable, modular, and production-ready codebases.
- Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
- Working knowledge of Golang, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, or other additional technologies.
- Experience with time-series databases.
- Exposure to event-driven architectures.
- Interest in energy systems and IoT devices.
