We are currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Support Workers to join our agency team, supporting young people and adults in supported living settings. This role involves providing person-centred support to individuals with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and complex behavioural or emotional support requirements.
As a Support Worker in supported living, you will help individuals maintain independence, develop life skills, and access their local community while promoting dignity, choice, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality person-centred support tailored to individual needs
- Support service users with daily living tasks, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, and household management
- Promote independence, confidence, and life skills development
- Support individuals with accessing education, work placements, appointments, and community activities
- Provide emotional support and build positive professional relationships
- Support with personal care where required
- Administer or prompt medication in line with training and policies
- Follow care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments
- Maintain accurate daily notes, incident reports, and handover records
- Safeguard vulnerable young people and adults at all times
- Support individuals with behaviours that may challenge where applicable
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and support teams
- Follow all agency and client policies and procedures
- Previous experience as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Residential Support Worker, or similar
- Experience supporting young people and/or adults in supported living, community, or care settings
- Good understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, reliable, and professional approach
- Ability to remain calm and responsive in challenging situations
- Flexibility to work agency shifts, including weekends, nights, and sleep-ins
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
- Experience supporting individuals with autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs, or challenging behaviour
- Medication administration training
- PMVA/MAPA training
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
