You will be supporting children, young people and adults with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), physical disabilities and complex care needs.
Your role will be to provide high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity, wellbeing and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support.
Build positive and professional relationships with service users.
Promote independence, confidence and life skills.
Support with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication (where trained), budgeting, appointments and accessing the community.
Provide emotional support and encourage positive behaviour.
Support with personal care where required.
Complete accurate daily records, care notes and incident reports.
Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
Safeguard children and vulnerable adults at all times.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals.
Maintain a safe, clean and supportive environment.
Requirements
Minimum
6 months' UK experience in either a Children's Residential Home, Supported Living service or similar care setting.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Right to work in the UK.
Good communication and written skills.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
A compassionate, reliable and professional approach.
Desirable
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care, Residential Childcare or equivalent.
Full UK driving licence.
PMVA, MAPA or Team Teach training.
Experience supporting individuals with autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs or complex behaviours.
Medication administration training.
