We’re looking for an experienced Regional Asset & Fleet Manager to take ownership of fleet, machinery and transport compliance across the Home Counties region. This is a hands-on, senior operational role where you’ll ensure our vehicles and machinery are safe, compliant, efficient and fit for purpose, while also driving improvements in utilisation, cost control and sustainability. You’ll work closely with contract teams, workshops, suppliers and central functions, acting as a key point of expertise for fleet and machinery management. You’ll also play a pivotal role in supporting our carbon net zero and electrification strategy, helping transition our fleet and machinery to more sustainable solutions.

Key responsibilities:
- Lead fleet, machinery and transport compliance across the region
- Act as the business CPC holder, ensuring adherence to DVSA and operator licensing requirements
- Manage servicing, MOTs, HGV checks, tacho compliance, LOLER and statutory inspections
- Reduce vehicle off-road (VOR) time and minimise downtime across the fleet
- Oversee asset utilisation, replacement planning and disposal programmes
- Maintain accurate asset records using Key2 Jaama / Syrinx systems
- Carry out regional reviews and attend operational meetings as required
- Build strong relationships with fleet, machinery and service suppliers
- Support workshops with technical expertise and leadership
- Ensure all drivers meet legal and licence-check requirements
- Lead on incident, accident, defect and insurance reporting
- Champion health & safety, best practice and innovation across the business
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar fleet / asset / transport role
- Strong background in grounds maintenance, arboriculture or plant machinery (highly desirable)
- Solid knowledge of transport legislation and DVSA compliance
- Transport CPC holder (preferred)
- Technical background (mechanical, electrical or engineering qualification advantageous)
- Confident managing data, reporting and asset systems
- Proactive, resilient and highly organised
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment

- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving ability
- Confident with Microsoft 365, Excel and fleet management systems
- Able to analyse fleet data and turn insight into action
