Aim of Role: To deliver profitable growth, identifying and developing new relationships and opportunities that increase market share within our Winter Gritting services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- To identify new business opportunities – including new clients, partnerships across the South region
- To build strong relationships with new clients and stakeholders, demonstrating that we understand their business needs and developing proposals
- Maintain and develop existing relationships with clients
- Able to pick up and understand Nurture Group’s business offering, the competition in our industry and our positioning in the marketplace
- Manage any bids in a timely, effective, and efficient manner to meet client specifications and company requirements for tender submission
- Partial responsibility for pitching Nurture and our service offering to new clients/partners
- Ensure all interactions with customers during the bid process – e.g., PQQ and presentations – clearly articulate the customer proposition as well as the Nurture competitive advantage, mission, and values
- Attendance at networking conferences/events in effort to build relationships across our industry
- Ensure all bids within division meet the highest standards of completeness and comply with brand requirements on identity and USP
- Working with Gritting Director and Head of Gritting Sales to ensure all bids have a robust and sustainable pricing model
- Maintain a healthy pipeline, ensuring all information related to opportunities is captured within our system
- Have an understanding and the ability to cross‑sell across all other business verticals
- Participate in self-development via appraisal outcomes and other methods of feedback
- Participate in other business projects
Health, Safety and Hygiene:
- Follow correct working practices in the use of equipment and materials and adopt safe working practices to safeguard the safety of others as well as oneself
- Wear correct PPE at all times, adhering to the company standard as set out in the Employee Handbook
- Report all Near Misses and/or accidents to your line management
- Always maintain a high degree of security; if you are a key holder, whilst working you will be expected to follow correct access procedures to buildings and not infringe any data protection regulations
Training:
- Attend Company/Site induction
- Attend individual and team monthly training as directed

Person Specification:
- Winter Gritting knowledge desirable
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience and a highly effective and proven service sales professional – preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in contracting or maintenance sectors
- Key skills and attributes:

- Proficient ability to understand new systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 – Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
- Commercially astute
