Prebook Recruitment is working with a supportive and inclusive school in Southall that is looking to appoint a dedicated Lead SEND Teaching Assistant to strengthen its specialist support team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning. You'll play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs while working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and wider support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
About The Role
As the Lead SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality support to pupils with SEND while helping to coordinate effective classroom support and interventions. You'll use your experience to promote positive outcomes, encourage independence, and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.
Your Responsibilities:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs
- Assisting teachers in delivering inclusive and engaging learning activities
- Supporting the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and targeted interventions
- Helping pupils develop communication, confidence, social skills, and emotional resilience
- Monitoring progress and contributing to pupil reviews and support plans
- Offering guidance and support to Teaching Assistants within the classroom
- Promoting positive behaviour and creating a calm, supportive learning environment
- Ensuring safeguarding and pupil wellbeing remain a priority at all times
About You / Qualifications:
- Has experience supporting children with SEND within a school setting
- Has a good understanding of a range of additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties
- Is confident leading interventions and supporting colleagues when required
- Builds positive relationships with pupils, families, and professionals
- Has excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
- Is patient, proactive, and passionate about inclusive education
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one
