Location: Harrow, North West London

Salary: £100 - £110 per day (PAYE)

Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term

The Role

As the Lead SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll be a key member of the school's SEND provision, providing specialist support for pupils while helping to ensure high standards are maintained across the wider support team. You'll work closely with classroom staff to remove barriers to learning, promote independence, and ensure every pupil receives the tailored support they need to succeed both academically and socially.

Your Responsibilities

  • Providing high-quality one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Assisting teachers with planning and delivering differentiated learning activities
  • Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other additional learning needs
  • Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to reviews, interventions, and support plans
  • Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive social interactions
  • Working collaboratively with the SENCO, teachers, parents, and external agencies
  • Supporting and mentoring Teaching Assistants where appropriate
  • Promoting safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing at all times

About You

  • Have substantial experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of inclusive education and effective intervention strategies
  • Be confident supporting pupils with a range of complex learning needs
  • Have excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
  • Remain calm, patient, and positive in challenging situations
  • Be passionate about helping every child achieve their individual potential
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
