NursLink Homecare is looking for a compassionate, reliable, and energetic Support Worker to support a friendly and active 29-year-old woman with visual impairment and learning difficulties in the Westbury area. This is a part time role, we are looking for a Support Worker happy with 6-12 hours per week. The role is for one-to-one support both at home and out in the community, helping to promote independence, confidence, and social engagement. About the Role

The role is varied, active, and ideal for someone who enjoys getting out and about. Support will include:

  • Providing support within the client’s home
  • Supporting social and leisure activities
  • Accompanying the client to the gym
  • Beach visits, walks, lunches, and community outings
  • Encouraging independence and confidence-building
  • Providing emotional reassurance and consistent support

The client experiences communication difficulties and traits of demand avoidance, so we are looking for someone with a calm, patient, and gentle approach who can build trust naturally over time. Due to the client’s visual impairment, quiet confidence and strong communication skills are essential when supporting her in the community.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in support work, care work, or community care
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A warm, reliable, and patient nature
  • Good understanding of British culture and social settings
  • Ability to encourage independence while providing reassurance and support
