Type: Full-Time | Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Responsible Individual (RI) to provide strategic oversight across two children's residential homes located in Romford and Wickford.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior leader with a strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, governance and quality assurance to support high-quality care and ensure both homes continue to achieve excellent outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Responsible Individual in accordance with Ofsted regulations.
- Provide effective oversight of two children's residential homes.
- Support and challenge Registered Managers to maintain high standards of care and compliance.
- Monitor safeguarding practices and ensure children remain at the heart of every decision.
- Conduct regular quality assurance visits in line with Regulation 44 expectations.
- Drive service improvement through audits, action plans and governance.
- Oversee regulatory compliance, policies and procedures.
- Support recruitment, retention and development of management teams.
- Liaise with Ofsted, local authorities and external professionals.
- Ensure both homes consistently deliver positive outcomes for children and young people. Requirements
- Previous experience as a Responsible Individual, Operations Manager or senior leader within children's residential services.
- Extensive knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted inspection frameworks.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Proven experience supporting Registered Managers and improving service performance.
- Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
