We are looking for an experienced and passionate Team Leader to join a children’s residential home in Northampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated childcare professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in supporting the team to deliver high-quality care and positive outcomes for children and young people.
As Team Leader, you will provide guidance and support to the residential care team, helping to ensure the home delivers a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where children and young people can thrive.
The Role:
- Support the management team with the day-to-day running of the home
- Lead and support the residential care team to provide excellent standards of care
- Act as a positive role model for staff and young people
- Ensure safeguarding practices are followed and maintained
- Support with care plans, risk assessments, and daily records
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
- Assist with the training, mentoring, and development of staff
- Promote a safe, supportive, and nurturing home environment
- Support with maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations and company policies
- Take responsibility for leading shifts and ensuring effective teamwork
About You:
- Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)
- Have previous experience working within a children’s residential setting
- Have experience supporting children and young people with complex needs
- Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and childcare legislation
- Be confident supporting and leading a team
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills
- Hold a full UK driving licence (strongly desirable)
Working Pattern:
- 40 hours per week
- Variable shift pattern across 7 days of the week
- Sleep-ins required (£70.50 per sleep-in)
- Please note: a fixed shift pattern is not available
