As our Nursery Housekeeper, you will be responsible for the daily upkeep and cleaning of all nursery rooms including staff areas, halls and toilet areas. Following the children's afternoon meal time you will support the rooms by clearing and cleaning away after the children have eaten. The role also involves ensuring the nursery washing is completed daily and the kitchen and laundry room are kept tidy and organised.

Responsibilities include:
- Be responsible for the daily upkeep and cleaning of all nursery rooms, halls and toilet areas.
- Help maintain a safe and hygienic, child-centred environment.
- Take any action required to ensure the safety and welfare of children and report any concern immediately to the Nursery Manager.
- Work with the nursery team to keep the building and its areas clean, tidy and welcoming.
- Upkeep of laundry, e.g. washing sheets, face cloths or towels.
- Keep our building safe, setting alarms and locking up as needed.
- Follow the latest health and safety legislation, taking part in all necessary training as required.
Requirements:
- A Food Hygiene certificate.
- Ability to adhere to policies and procedures.
- Sufficient understanding and use of English.
- Understanding of the importance of good hygiene practice.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all children, staff and families.
- Ability to support an environment which is inclusive for all and encourages diversity.
- Experience of cleaning a nursery environment or similar.
- Experience of working with children aged under 5.
Nursery Village is fully committed to the Safeguarding and Welfare of children and this is paramount in our Safer Recruitment policy. This role includes supervision and care of children and is considered a ‘Regulated Activity’. An Enhanced DBS check with barred list information is required. If you have lived or worked outside of the UK, an overseas Enhanced DBS check is also necessary.
