Our Room Leaders assist in the day to day management of the setting, whilst leading their room team to enable children to engage in a range of play and learning opportunities. You will have passion and enthusiasm for safeguarding children and delivering high standards of care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

Experience:

  • At least 2 years experience in a childcare setting
  • Experience in a leadership or management position

Knowledge:

  • A great understanding of the EYFS

Skills:

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal
  • Good timekeeping, organisation and reliability

Salary: £33,000

Working Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Essential Competencies for our Room Leader:

  • Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Sufficient understanding and use of English
  • Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and the EYFS
  • Ability to work as a team member and leader but also manage and organise own workload
  • Ability to plan, provide and evaluate a wide range of play and learning opportunities which meet children's individual needs
  • Ability to complete basic administrative tasks
  • Ability to be a reflective practitioner in order to develop your practice
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all children, staff and families
  • Ability to support and develop an environment which is inclusive for all and encourages diversity

Desirable Skills:

  • Skills in Art / Craft / Games / Sport
  • ICT Skills

Essential Experience:

  • Experience of working with children aged under 5
  • Experience of providing play and learning opportunities for children

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience of supporting children with additional needs
  • Experience of liaising with parents/carers and involving them in their child's care
