Job Description

Nursery Nurse

Our Client are looking to employ a Level 3 Qualified Nursery Practitioner for their quality Ofsted rated GOOD Nursery based near Hatfield, Hertfordshire. The successful Nursery Practitioner must be passionate and dedicated in supporting the day-to-day running of the nursery to ensure high quality care and education is provided

Key Responsibilities

  • To support the planning and provide a program of activities suitable to all ages of the children in your group in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, and your key children's interests.
  • Have a clear intention for all activities and understand how it is implemented and reflect on the impact.
  • To ensure that the curriculum and activities meet the standards required by the statutory framework process.
  • To ensure that activities take into account the needs of the individual child by implementing a key worker system.
  • To ensure activities take place in a warm, safe and stimulating environment.
  • To ensure parents are welcomed, involved and kept fully informed about their child's activities, progress and development.
  • To prepare accurate and objective records of the children in the key worker group and implement reviews for parents in conjunction with the Manager.
  • To read, understand and implement the policies of the nursery including equal opportunities and child protection.
  • To attend regular meetings for the staff within the nursery and to work as a member of the team.
  • To liaise, when appropriate, with outside agencies.
  • To be aware of Health & Safety issues within the nursery ensuring that the Health & Safety policy is implemented.
  • To support marketing and publicity of the nursery.
  • To support visitors in the nursery in an appropriate way.
  • To keep abreast of changes and progress within the child care field and to undertake relevant training when necessary.
  • To ensure the safety and welfare of the children at all times.

Requirements

  • Recognised childcare qualification to NVQ3 or equivalent.
  • A valid Paediatric level 3 first aid certificate.
  • An enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Experience of working in an Early Years setting.
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
