Nurse Seekers are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established residential care home in Newport for a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant. This role is ideal for an experienced care professional who is confident working night shifts and committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care to elderly residents in a residential setting.

Hours:

  • Average 20 hours per week on a bi-weekly rota
  • Alternate weekend working required
  • Night shift patterns: 17:00–22:30 and 22:30–07:30

Pay Rates:

  • Weekdays: £12.60 per hour
  • Weekends: £14.24 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing high-quality care and support to residents throughout the night
  • Assisting with personal care, mobility, and comfort needs
  • Administering medication in line with training and policies
  • Monitoring residents' wellbeing and responding appropriately to changes
  • Maintaining accurate care records and handovers
  • Ensuring a calm, safe, and supportive environment overnight

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within elderly residential care
  • Medication trained
  • Ideally, prior experience working night shifts
  • QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or working towards / willing to work towards this qualification
  • A caring, reliable, and patient approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a night team
