What You'll Be Doing

  • Preparing and cooking healthy, balanced meals for around 65‑70 children and 20‑25 staff
  • Delivering meals on time, following structured menus with care and creativity
  • Adapting dishes to meet allergies, dietary needs, and cultural preferences
  • Working closely with a kitchen assistant to keep daily operations running smoothly
  • Taking full responsibility for a clean, safe, and well‑organised kitchen and dining space
  • Keeping all equipment, utensils, and storage areas spotless and in order
  • Monitoring kitchen supplies, reducing waste, and ensuring stock is always maintained
  • Upholding high food hygiene, health, and safety standards at all times
  • Maintaining accurate records for cleaning, food safety, and temperature checks
  • Communicating clearly with team members and management to support a positive environment

What We're Looking For

  • Experience cooking for large groups in a Nursery or School kitchen
  • Confidence managing a kitchen independently and leading daily operations
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work well within a team
  • Good level of spoken and written English
