The Role
As an RVN, youll be involved in a varied range of nursing responsibilities, including:
- Clinical Nursing: Providing excellent inpatient care, including patient monitoring, administering treatments and maintaining accurate clinical records.
- Anaesthesia Support: Assisting with anaesthetic induction, monitoring and recovery across a range of procedures.
- Surgical Assistance: Preparing theatres, supporting veterinary surgeons during operations and maintaining high standards of sterility and patient safety.
- Laboratory Work: Performing in-house diagnostic tests, preparing samples and helping maintain laboratory equipment.
- Client Communication: Providing clear and empathetic advice to clients on post-operative care, nutrition, preventative healthcare and general pet wellbeing.
- Nurse Clinics: Conducting routine clinics such as weight checks, nail clips, parasite-control advice and senior pet reviews.
- Practice Support: Maintaining stock levels, upholding cleanliness and infection-control standards, and contributing to a positive team culture.
