Nurse Seekers are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established provider of supported living services for an experienced and passionate Service Manager to lead two supported living services in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected organisation that supports adults aged 18+ living with mental health conditions, autism, and/or learning disabilities. Working as part of the senior management team, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while leading and developing a dedicated staff team.

The Role

As Service Manager, you will work closely with the Deputy Manager and Team Leaders to ensure services are safe, effective, and responsive to the needs of the people being supported. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the daily operational management of two supported living services.
  • Ensuring high standards of person-centred support through effective care planning and risk management.
  • Providing leadership, supervision, and professional development to the staff team.
  • Recruiting, inducting, and developing a motivated and compassionate workforce.
  • Managing occupancy levels, assessing referrals, and supporting service growth.
  • Building positive relationships with community mental health teams, inpatient services, local authorities, and other key stakeholders.
  • Promoting equality, diversity, inclusion, and best practice throughout the service.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory standards, and organisational policies.
  • Supporting continuous service improvement and maintaining excellent quality standards.

About You

The successful candidate will have previous management experience within supported living, mental health, or adult social care services and be passionate about delivering outstanding support.

Essential

  • NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), HCPC registration as a mental health professional, or willingness to work towards the relevant qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Good understanding of mental health conditions and their impact on individuals.
  • Previous experience managing supported living or social care services.
  • Proven leadership and staff management experience.
  • Sound understanding of community-based mental health services.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records and reporting systems.

Desirable

  • Previous clinical experience within the NHS or similar healthcare setting.
