Our client is seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to join their growing team. You will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being in a supportive and respectful environment. This position requires a caring attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily personal care activities, including washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support residents with mobility, including the use of hoists and walking aids where required.
- Serve meals and provide assistance with eating and drinking when necessary.
- Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes to senior staff or nursing colleagues.
- Encourage and support residents to participate in social and recreational activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records.
- Help ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all residents.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Follow all safeguarding, infection control, and health & safety procedures.
- Respect residents' rights, privacy, dignity, and independence at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience within a care setting is preferred but not essential.
- SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards a relevant qualification.
- A kind, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays where required.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Attributes
- First Aid and Manual Handling training.
- Understanding of dementia care and the needs of older people.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
