Deputy Home Manager (Registered Nurse) Location: Chesterfield Salary: £24.00 per hour Hours: 40 hours per week, with part-time hours considered A Different Kind of Deputy Manager Role Not every nursing management role needs to take you away from the clinical side of the job. This is an opportunity to step into a Deputy Home Manager position where you can continue nursing, support your team and take on greater responsibility, with dedicated time set aside for management duties. Broomhill Care Centre is a specialist 16-bed care home supporting individuals with brain injuries and other complex needs. Working in a smaller setting like this offers the opportunity to get to know residents as individuals and play a meaningful part in the care they receive. The home is looking for a Registered Nurse who can bring sound clinical judgement, a hands-on approach and the confidence to support the day-to-day running of the service. How the Hours Work The 40-hour contract is split clearly between nursing and management, so you know what your week looks like: 24 hours on the floor: Two 12-hour nursing shifts, continuing to provide direct care to residents. 16 hours supernumerary: Two 8-hour office-based shifts for management, administration and supporting the wider team. On-call: One week in every four. Part-time hours can also be considered, making this worth exploring if you are looking for a more flexible arrangement. What You'll Be Doing You'll work alongside the Home Manager to keep the service running effectively, balancing clinical responsibilities with the practical side of managing a care home. This will include providing nursing care, supporting and guiding colleagues, overseeing care plans and clinical records, maintaining care standards and helping ensure the home meets its regulatory and safeguarding responsibilities. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to staff development and improvements across the service, helping maintain a consistent standard of care for residents with often complex and individual needs. Who Would Suit This Role? This could suit a nurse who is already working in a senior or leadership position and wants to progress, or an experienced nurse looking for an opportunity to develop their management responsibilities without giving up clinical work. You must hold an active Nursing PIN as an RGN, RNMH or RNLD, with no restrictions or pending investigations. Experience in brain injury care or complex needs would be useful, but the essential requirement is the correct nursing registration, alongside the clinical ability and attitude to take on the role. Salary and Working Arrangements £24.00 per hour, non-negotiable on appointment. Salary review following successful completion of six months' probation. 40 hours per week, with part-time hours considered. A defined split between clinical and supernumerary hours. On-call responsibility just one week in every four. Interested? If you want to move into deputy management but still enjoy being involved in nursing, this role offers a practical balance of both.
