Nurse Seekers is proud to be working on behalf of a leading independent college, seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Houseparent to join their outstanding boarding team.

This residential role offers a rewarding opportunity to support the academic, emotional, and personal development of students in a caring, home-from-home environment. Working closely with the Senior Houseparent, you'll help maintain a high standard of pastoral care, safeguarding, and welfare within the boarding house.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting “in loco parentis” for students, ensuring their well-being and development
  • Maintaining discipline, managing routines, and supporting students in daily life
  • Keeping accurate records and liaising with relevant college staff
  • Supporting evening and weekend duties as part of a shared rota
  • Promoting a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment in line with safeguarding policies

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be empathetic, responsible, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills
  • Have experience working with young people in a residential or pastoral care setting
  • Understand safeguarding responsibilities (training provided)
  • Be comfortable working evenings, weekends, and overnight as part of a rota
