The home provides specialist nursing, dementia, residential respite, and end-of-life care, alongside short-term respite stays for individuals recovering from illness or hospital admission and those requiring temporary support. The Role

As a Senior Care Assistant / Team Leader (Nights), you will play a vital role in leading the night care team and ensuring residents receive exceptional care, comfort and reassurance throughout the night. Working closely with nurses and colleagues, you’ll oversee the smooth running of the night shift, ensuring high standards of person-centred care are consistently maintained. You’ll provide leadership and support to the care team while promoting a calm, safe and welcoming environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting the care team throughout the night shift
  • Delivering high-quality, person-centred care
  • Assisting residents with personal care and overnight support
  • Supporting medication administration and monitoring
  • Completing accurate care records and handovers
  • Promoting a safe, calm and comfortable environment overnight
  • Responding promptly to residents' changing needs
  • Mentoring and supporting junior members of the care team

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about providing outstanding care and enjoys leading and motivating others. You will have:

  • Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader or similar role within a nursing, residential or dementia care setting
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
  • Experience supporting older people, including those living with dementia
  • Medication administration experience (desirable)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • A compassionate, proactive and team-focused approach
  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional care
