This highly regarded home provides outstanding residential and respite care for up to 44 residents aged 65 and over, offering a welcoming and supportive environment where people can enjoy later life with dignity and independence. The Role
As a Senior Care Assistant / Team Leader, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of exceptional care while providing day-to-day leadership and guidance to the care team. You will work closely with residents, families and colleagues to ensure the highest standards of person-centred care are consistently maintained. As a senior member of the team, you will lead by example, support colleagues and help create a safe, positive and welcoming environment where residents can live fulfilling and meaningful lives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, supporting and motivating care staff during day shifts
- Delivering high-quality, person-centred care to residents
- Assisting residents with personal care and daily living activities
- Administering and supporting with medication, where trained and authorised
- Maintaining accurate care records and documentation
- Monitoring residents' wellbeing and reporting any changes appropriately
- Promoting independence, dignity, choice and respect at all times
- Supporting residents to participate in activities and enjoy an active social life
- Acting as a positive role model and mentor for the wider care team
- Helping to maintain a safe, friendly and welcoming environment
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or Team Leader within a residential or nursing care setting. You will be a compassionate and reliable care professional with excellent communication skills and the confidence to support and lead a team. We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience within a residential or nursing care environment
- Experience as a Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader or similar position desirable
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care desirable
- Medication administration experience desirable
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- A caring, compassionate and person-centred approach
- A proactive and positive attitude
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding care and enhancing residents' quality of life
