What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing and cooking healthy, balanced meals for around 65–70 children and 20–25 staff
- Delivering meals on time, following structured menus with care and creativity
- Adapting dishes to meet allergies, dietary needs, and cultural preferences
- Working closely with a kitchen assistant to keep daily operations running smoothly
- Taking full responsibility for a clean, safe, and well‑organised kitchen and dining space
- Keeping all equipment, utensils, and storage areas spotless and in order
- Monitoring kitchen supplies, reducing waste, and ensuring stock is always maintained
- Upholding high food hygiene, health, and safety standards at all times
- Maintaining accurate records for cleaning, food safety, and temperature checks
- Communicating clearly with team members and management to support a positive environment
What We’re Looking For
- Experience cooking for large groups in a Nursery or School kitchen
- Confidence managing a kitchen independently and leading daily operations
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work well within a team
- Good level of spoken and written English
