We are currently recruiting Residential Support Workers (RSWs) to join a children’s residential home in the EX1 area. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people within a supportive, nurturing, and structured environment.

Salary & Benefits:

  • £13.50–£14.00 per hour (dependent on qualifications)
  • £50 sleep-in allowance per shift
  • Full-time hours (based on approximately 12 shifts per month)
  • 24-hour shifts, typically 2–3 per week (often back-to-back)
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities

About the Role:

As a Residential Support Worker, you will support children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), many of whom have experienced trauma. You will play a key role in creating a safe, stable, and caring home environment, helping young people build positive relationships, develop life skills, and achieve their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day care and emotional support
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
  • Support behaviour management using a trauma-informed approach
  • Promote education, health, and wellbeing
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in children’s residential care is desirable
  • We will also consider candidates with experience supporting individuals with high EBD needs
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred
