The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Educational Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the psychological validity and efficacy of our XR-based interventions, contributing to a product that is both scientifically sound and deeply empathetic to user needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development & Design: Collaborate closely with our XR developers, AI engineers, and UX/UI designers to integrate psychological principles and best practices into the Nuraverse platform. This includes advising on the design of screening tools, adaptive learning pathways, therapeutic modules, and performance profiling features.
- Content Creation & Curation: Contribute to the development and review of educational and therapeutic content within the Nuraverse, ensuring it aligns with current psychological research and pedagogical approaches for neurodivergent learners.
- Research & Evaluation: Participate in the design and execution of research studies to evaluate the efficacy and impact of Nura XR’s products. This involves contributing to data analysis, interpreting findings, and translating research into actionable product improvements.
- User Experience & Accessibility: Provide expert guidance on optimising the user experience for neurodivergent individuals, ensuring the platform is intuitive, engaging, and accessible across various XR and 2D devices. Advise on sensory considerations and cognitive load within immersive environments.
- Clinical & Educational Guidance: Offer insights and recommendations based on your clinical and educational experience to inform product features, user support strategies, and potential future applications of the Nuraverse.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with external partners, educational institutions, and clinical professionals to gather feedback, validate concepts, and ensure our products meet real-world needs.
- Thought Leadership: Contribute to Nura XR’s reputation as a leader in neurodivergent support and immersive learning through presentations, publications, and participation in relevant conferences.
Qualifications:
- Essential:
- A recognised qualification as an Educational Psychologist (e.g., Doctorate or Master’s degree in Educational Psychology).
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK (or equivalent professional body if based internationally).
- Demonstrable experience working with neurodivergent individuals (e.g., ADHD, Dyslexia, ASD) in educational or clinical settings.
- Strong understanding of cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, and learning theories relevant to neurodiversity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A passion for leveraging technology to create positive social impact.
- Desirable (but not mandatory):
- Experience or strong interest in Extended Reality (XR), Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), or immersive learning technologies.
- Familiarity with principles of game-based learning or serious games design.
